The National Anti-Gaslighting Pledge™
Workplace Commitment
Listen. Validate. Act.
A Healthy Workplace Begins with Being Heard.
Every voice deserves to be heard.
Every concern deserves respect.
Every concern deserves a responsible response.
We commit to actively listening to employee concerns without judgment, interruption, ridicule, or automatic dismissal.
We will:
● Provide accessible and confidential reporting channels.
● Encourage open, respectful communication.
● Train supervisors to listen without becoming defensive.
● Ensure employees have ways to communicate concerns outside their direct chain of command.
● Foster a culture where speaking up is welcomed rather than feared.
We commit to recognizing the significance of employees’ concerns and treating every individual with dignity, compassion, and respect.
We will:
● Acknowledge employee concerns without minimizing their experiences.
● Avoid dismissive language such as “You’re overreacting,” “It’s all in your head,” or “That’s just how things work here.”
● Recognize that individuals can experience the same workplace differently.
● Take concerns involving physical health, mental wellness, disability, discrimination, and workplace safety seriously.
● Approach disagreements and investigations with fairness and impartiality.
Validation does not require agreeing with every allegation. It means acknowledging the employee’s experience, respecting their right to be heard, and committing to a fair review.
Listening without action is not enough.
We commit to responsibly addressing employee concerns and taking appropriate steps to improve workplace conditions.
We will:
● Establish clear procedures for reviewing and resolving concerns.
● Investigate allegations promptly, fairly, and without bias.
● Take appropriate corrective or preventive action when warranted.
● Communicate next steps and follow up with employees while respecting confidentiality.
● Protect employees against retaliation for raising protected concerns.
● Evaluate workplace policies and practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
On behalf of our organization, we pledge to cultivate a workplace where employees are heard, their concerns are respected, and leadership is accountable for responding appropriately.
We commit to listening without judgment, validating experiences without dismissal, and taking responsible action to address workplace concerns.
We recognize that a healthy workplace is not one without challenges, but one where challenges can be addressed with integrity, compassion, fairness, and transparency.
We pledge to Listen. Validate. Act.
Join organizations committed to creating workplaces where employee voices matter.
A healthier workplace starts with leadership. Meaningful change begins with action.
